Reality Wrecking Distribution is a company dedicated to facilitating meaningful distribution of publications by small and independent publishers.

Founded by artist and publisher James Stanford, the company emerged from his disillusionment working with a large distributor that neither prioritized his publications nor understood the unique needs of independent publishers. His vision for Reality Wrecking Distribution is a distributor that gives independent publications the attention, consideration, and respect they deserve, working diligently to enable them to reach the widest possible audience.

Operating in the United States and United Kingdom, we currently distribute works published by Smallworks Press and are actively seeking to expand our portfolio to include other small and independent publishers. Our interest is in critical texts on the visual arts, including visual essays, artist books, arts-based research, children's books, and other innovative projects. 

Our objectives are to identify and collaborate with retailers, reviewers, and other outlets interested in amplifying critical voices outside the mainstream, and to connect with a reading public who share this interest in an alternative voice of reason and creativity. We have a special interest in distributing academic texts and conference proceedings that other distributors will not. We are looking for high-quality output that struggles to make it to market.
